General Douglas MacArthur's office diary does not show any meetings in Airlie, so it is possible that he was not there. After World War II, Airlie returned to private ownership. It was purchased by the Victorian Department of Health in 1950 and converted into a tuberculosis clinic. Airlie is now used by Victoria Police as an officer training school known as the Airlie Leadership Development Center (ALDC).

Another interesting feature of Airlie is that today there is a tunnel that comes out of the basement area and runs under Pont Road and apparently goes under the German Embassy, which is still in the same house today.
